Knox Florida Reunion Update:
The Knox Reunion which was held in South Florida in June was a big Success. We would like to thank all of our fellow Knoxites in Florida and across the U.S., Canada and Jamaica who worked so hard to put this event together. We were very pleased with the reunion turnout. We had four hundred and fifty people attend the reunion Banquet. We are pleased to announce that $5,000.00 has been sent down to Knox Junior School, Knox High School and Knox Community College, for a total U.S.$15,000 donation to Knox. We have requested that these funds go toward educational purposes. We have held back $2,300.00 from from the reunion to fund future Florida events, and to start a Knox Foundation. We will head off the Knox Foundation in mid 2005.

Dear Fellow Knoxites:

For those of us who had the privilege of attending the recent KPSA Toronto Chapter's 60th Anniversary Celebration in Toronto, where 3 of the members of the New York Chapter were honoured, I'm sure we left extremely impressed, not only with the presentation, but also with the commitment, cooperation, and dedication exhibited by the members of the Toronto chapter. This obviously contributed to the success that the event was and kudos are due to Sonia and the members of the Executive Committee, in particular.

As a member of the "New York Chapter", it was apparent to me as to how much we have denied ourselves the opportunities to contribute to our alma mater by not functioning and contributing in the way and at the level to which we are capable. I implore our "members" to rededicate ourselves to the precepts of the legacy left to us by our founding fathers. It is time for us to come together, to re-organize and re-dedicate ourselves to contribute to the needs of our brothers and sisters at Knox and to begin again the task of re-establishing and maintaining Knox to its position of pre-eminence in Jamaica's educational process. There is a lot of work to do and we owe it to ourselves, our history as graduates, and our current brothers and sisters at Knox to leave behind the inactivity of our organization and move forward with purpose. Let's re-group, re-affirm our commitment to our alma mater and become active in the cause of enabling and improving the academic and scholastic achievements of our beloved alma mater. Remember, wherever we are in life and whatever our achievements, Knox was responsible for providing the framework which helped to get us there. It is long overdue but it is never too late to begin again.
